Fuja Faces Write-In Challenger
July 24th, 2008 | by christine |I have just received (unconfirmed) word that Les Schneider will be running for commissioner in district 4. He filed his papers today and is running in the primary as a write-in Democrat. He faces incumbent Jon Micheal Fuja.
From Commissioner Jack Johnson:
Les will bring the veterans perspective and advocacy to the board. He is a 22 year airforce vet and is involved with several vso including the DAV, VA and many other volunteer activities and organizations for veterans.
Schneider needs about 30 votes in the August primary to be listed on the November ballot. Fuja was previously unchallenged.
Schneider’s website is under development.

Les Schneider’s website is schneider4commissioner.com
While Les is very involved with Veterans issues and organizations, he is community minded and always willing to lend a hand where needed.
He has been working hard already, knocking on doors and will have campaign yard signs up within a few days.
It is refreshing to see such enthusiasm and willingness to serve his community.

Hi Christine, Yes, I am Running for County Commissioner District 4. I will bring the veterans views to the board.
I am a 26 year Air Force veteran and was a Major Airline Pilot I’m involved with many volunteer organizations including the DAV, VA and many more. I want to bring knowledge to the public. I am proud to tell everyone that I am a Veteran, and that I call Shiawassee County my home. Thanks Les S.

UNfortunately the “powers that be” have decided that Les didn’t get enough write-in votes due to misspells of his name and a few other nonsensical “issues”.
I think anything CLOSE TO “Schneider” should be accepted since he is/was the ONLY write-in candidate for commissioner.
