Worst Political Site Ever
June 15th, 2008 | by christine |I just saw the Re-elect Sheriff Jon Wilson site, and I have to say that it is one of the worst sites I’ve ever seen.
I’ll give the man credit for the attempt; it has a donation link, a volunteer link, and all the other good links that you want in a political site. But it also has this:
- He mentions “negative residents” and “bad politics” in his front page welcome message.
- His endorsements page has 10 people**, as follows:
- His Undersheriff, who happens to be his only endorsement with an SCSD affiliation
- 2 Sheriffs from out of county
- 1 person who specifically says “I cannot speak to the problems of the Sheriff’s Dept”
- 1 person who says “the last few months must have been hard on him”
- 3 people who say he is innocent of the accusations against him
- 1 actual good endorsement from Avery Weaver (a local well known Republican)
- A page that makes it look like crime increased during his tenure. (I’m not looking it up, so I don’t know the crime stats)
- Seriously, the worst political video ever. And just in case you hadn’t heard that Sheriff Jon Wilson assaulted his Deputy, he specifically mentions it at about 2:20 into the video. You know, just to set the record straight that he’s never assaulted anyone, and especially none of his officers. Also, he doesn’t answer to the Commissioners or the County Administrator or the Argus Press. Only to God, his wife, and … um … sorry, I don’t know what comes after that. I was laughing so hard by that point, I couldn’t hear what he was saying.
I have said all along that this guy is a walking political disaster. He just keeps proving me right.
**(The site of his primary opponent, Deana Finnegan, lists 29 endorsements, and 7 have an SCSD affiliation)

It scarcely seemed fair to titillate us with “Worst Political Site Ever” and not include a link.
I actually had to Google it.

@L Damouth, the link is in the first sentence — “Re-elect Sheriff Wilson” is hyperlinked to the site. I have also included links in the 1st, 3rd, and 4th points. (Though I see I didn’t link to his endorsements page)

Deana has only one “n” …. sorry for being the editor-type, but I know I HATE it when people spell my neme KevEn…. so, Kristina, just for future reference..
If Jon Wilson gets re-elected, I will re-cant all of the experience I have had in 40 years of political contests and concede that I KNOW NOTHING.
There are TWO viable opponents, one in the Republican primary, Deana Finnegan and, when November comes around, George Braidwood, former Undersheriff with 22 years of law enforcement experience and 17 of those AT SHIAWASSEE COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT. Nuff said.

J.W.’s video is horrible!!!
1st he has to read everything from a cue card.
2nd he reads with no flow and barley looks to be able to read the cue cards.
3rd video is edited pretty badly.
4th Is he paying royalities on the “Born In The U.S.A.” song?
5th Whoever edited that song don’t know what the heck they are doing. Should of just used the instrumental and not the actual song. Plus the song used is really a “protest song”.
6th The video audio track with “Born In The U.S.A.” actually plays back the part of Bruce singing “Stuck in a hometown jam”…
That is about the best part of it from a “production man’s” stand point…

I am all for freedom of speach. However, between the comments your making on your site and the Argus Press in appears your walking a fine line of Libel or slander.
In Ohio,assault-means that you intetionally wanted to cause harm to another person,regardless of any harm being done.
I hope you don’t want to open that door. I hardly consider grabbing someones arm an assault, even though I didn’t agree with it.
As a resident, If an officer grabs my arm-with out reasonable cause-would that be assault.
When you open doors,you never know what will walk in.

Hi Tom, thanks for the comment. You’re not clear in what your point is, so I will guess.
I don’t recall saying anything about the arm-grabbing that didn’t have the support of county generated documentation. Certainly the victim felt he was assaulted, because he filed a police report. Documentation by the county attorneys who investigated the incident, supported the allegations of the arm-grabbing. You & I both would feel assaulted in that same situation.
In this particular post I only refer to the Sheriff denying that he has assaulted anyone. (I think that’s funny because it’s a stupid thing to do in a political campaign) I don’t know what you mean by the comments I make on the Argus Press.
If I’ve clearly libeled or slandered, I’ll retract with an apology.

Don’t elect Deanna Finnegan either. She’s in the prosectuing attornies office and you do not go after single unwed mothers and steal children without a case and without a warrant. Its always about politics. When elected officials get their hands into the political cookie jar, abuse of power happens.
George Braidwood was a narcotics officer and in charge of homicides. Why is the death of a fire victim unsolved in Owosso? Why is there still drugs being distributed to our children here in Owosso? Shiawassee has a drug problem and many people know it. Why did Fmr. Mayor of Owosso Linda Robertson abuse her power to pass laws to open the Wrought Iron Grill when she is the coowners wife? Gov. Granholm came to Owosso on politics and it was not official Michigan Business. City of Owosso did not arrange her visit and the Gov. office said she was just eating. It is time to kick the abuse to the curb and elect the strongest person to office, not the party. That is why I started to run. It is not democracy if the judges run unopposed and are elected by the governors. This is communism. Charter Cable will not air our Michigan House and Senate. Owosso hires illegals aliens as doctors. This town has become a sanctuary city for abuse. Where are the cameras?
