I was over at http://www.abc12.com looking for the story on the peace rally, when I came across this unsettling article: Children being hit hard by poverty; New ABC News study shows average age of homeless is 9.
But as some look to the future, they say it may get worse. In Mid Michigan, Genesee County doesn’t have the highest percentage of kids living in poverty.
Of counties with populations over 65,000, Saginaw County has the most, followed by Isabella and Midland counties with numbers in the teens and Shiawassee and Lapeer with more than 10 percent of their children living in poverty.
We’re in 4th place???? I guess we need to pump more money into the County Administrator’s budget … see if we can’t get that number up into the high teens …

Congrats on getting coverage of your anti-war rally- no press here at all. None. Granted, it wasn’t some huge deal, but with the attention placed on Washington you would think there would be some “local angle” stories.
Nope. Just me.
