A race that I forgot to track — Rebekah Warren won Chris Kolb’s old seat in the state House. From the Argus Press:
Owosso native wins House seat in Ann Arbor
Rebekah Warren, 34, an Owosso native now residing in Ann Arbor, won a seat in the Michigan House in last Tuesday’s election. A Democrat, she will represent the 53rd District which includes part of the city of Ann Arbor and portions of the surrounding townships of Ann Arbor, Pittsfield and Scio. In what is considered basically a Democratic district, she handily defeated Republican Eric Sheagren, receiving 80% of votes cast. She replaces Democrat Chris Kolb who was term limited.
The newly elected representative is the daughÂter of Larry and Andrea Warren of Owosso. She is a 1990 graduate of Owosso High School, then earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She is currentÂly working on a master’s degree in family and child ecology at Michigan State University.
Warren had worked as a legislative assistant in the House in Lansing and in 1998 ran unsuccessfully for a state House seat in a primary election.
