Governor Granholm: When Women Lead, Women Win

October 26th, 2006 | by christine |

Governor Granholm attended a fundraiser at the Flint home of Rosanne and Steve Heddy last night. The theme of the event was “Women in Charge: When Women Lead, Women Win”.

Some interesting facts about the Governor:

  • Governor Granholm is the first female Governor for Michigan
  • She has appointed more women to cabinet positions than any other Michigan Governor.
  • She implemented the “Plan First” program which improves health care for women in this state
and provides preventive care and family planning services to more Michigan women
  • She understands the importance of affirmative action to women in this state and opposes the so-called Michigan Civil Rights Initiative that would end programs that currently provide incentives for women in business and education.
  • Governor Granholm   Governor Granholm   Governor Granholm

Thanks to Kristi Bartholomew for reporting this and getting these shots for us.

It seems a little cynical to me that when women lead, women win. I don’t see any reason why women can’t win when men are in charge or why men can’t win with women in charge.

Question: When is exclusionary language not exclusionary?

Answer: When a feminist uses exclusionary language.

I ask the women of Michigan: Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

Yep, and we’ll be even better off after another 4 years of Granholm’s leadership.

Stick a fork in Dick. He’s done.
