Prosecutor’s Wife Caught Dancing Naked In Street

Ok, I’m sorry about the title but it was either that or “Soil Erosion Refunds”, and what are the odds you’d read an article called “Soil Erosion Refunds”?

The Independent had just such an article today. I have a couple of comments:

Shiawassee County Prosecuting Attorney Randy O Colbry said after the meeting that Holzhausen never received authorization from the board of commissioners to charge for the waivers which is why the money is being returned.

Colbry may be right. (even a stopped clock is right twice a day) Bernie Butcher never charged for waivers; only for issued permits. I still don’t see any fraud here though … just, perhaps, a difference of opinion on the administration of the program.

Holzhausen stated again that he had requested a complete audit of the drain office shortly after he took office. “If you (county commissioners) had granted that request we wouldn’t have this mess,” he said.

I don’t think a drain office audit (which is an audit of the drain accounts) has anything to do with soil erosion fee collection / reimbursement. Does it?

In a related matter, Colbry said he has not heard from the Michigan Attorney General’s office regarding the materials he sent concerning Drain Commissioner Holzhausen. “The matter is currently under review,” a representative from Attorney General Michael Cox’s office said Monday in a telephone interview.

Translation: “Although we are willing to play political games just like Colbry, we like our accusations to have some basis in fact. So we’re just going to wait and let Colbry embarrass himself before we make a decision on Gary.”

In other news, Colbry got himself a new employee, to help out with all that hard work they’re doing in his office. Maybe the extra help can be used on the things less important than the drain office … say, unsolved murders and “accidental” drownings?

Update: The Argus Press has a related article here.

Yes………..I would have read an article entitled “Soil Erosion Refunds”……………but I would have gotten a kick out of the story you fraudently presented, too.

I don’t understand why the commissioners are so adament about refunding these “illegally charged waiver fees” when………….AND AT THE SAME TIME…………..they are very well aware of the fact that they illegally overcharged for kennel licenses for YEARS and when that was brought to their attention they reduced to the legal amount, added an inspection (and fee) to recoup the loss, made no offer to refund the illegal overcharges AND totally ignored my request as to when they might be doing that.

So…….yes ……. I would have read this article anyway.

Still haven’t heard anything from the Attorney General…ha! not ’til after the election?

The AG won’t do anything until after Bernie’s aquittal … if you are talking about the charges against Gary.

The board is wrong not to make amends to those they have over-charged. They know they are wrong too, they just keep the $$ because they can legally get away with it. It’s disgusting.

And Kay, you & Tina are probably the only ones who would read an article about soild erosion fees. But I wanted more readers than just the 2 of you. :)

However, if I ever write an article about the prosecutor’s wife, it will be about what a scourge her husband is. I’m pretty sure that if I take any artistic license, he will be the one dancing naked in the street.

By the way I meant to say that the AG will watch what happens to Bernie. Bernie will be aquitted. Then the AG will decide against doing anything.

If Amos Williams wins then we don’t have to worry about it. He’s a decent person who can see through BS when it’s sent his way.
