Statement From Marcia Bird, Candidate For Owosso School Board

Marcia is a fellow Arc Shiawassee board member, and is very passionate about the issues facing the Shiawassee area schools. I encourage all voters in the Owosso school district to contact Marcia with any questions you may have about her position on the issues.
As you all know, the Owosso School Board election will be held on May 2, 2006.
There are two very important issues facing the District and the Voters at this election. The first is the passage of the Sinking Fund Milleage renewal which all three candidates support. It is extremely important that we pass this in order to continue fiscal responsibility for the maintenance, repairs, and improvements of facilities throughout Owosso Public Schools.
The second issue facing voters is the election of two seats on the Owosso Public Schools Board, of which I am a candidate. I have the most combined volunteer experience and professional expertise of any of the three candidates. In addition, I think it is important that we move forward, with a positive community focus, toward preserving, expanding and promoting Owosso Public Schools as the district in Shiawassee County that places the educational needs of each student as priority 1!
Please help me make Putting Kids First and Promoting the Community a reality by placing a sign in your yard, handing out flyers during the upcoming week, or contacting friends, neighbors, and relatives on my behalf.
