Mike Huckleberry’s Speak Out Statement

On Wednesday, November 16, Move On hosted a “Speak Out” at 4th District Rep. Dave Camp’s office in Midland. The “Speak Out” concerns the radical Camp supported budget cuts (Medicaid, Food Stamps and student loans among others) for our most needy and his tax roll backs for the most wealthy.

Camp’s challenger, Mike Huckleberry, issued the following statement for the event.

GREETINGS TO ALL,

I regret that I can not be with you this morning due to prior commitments in Detroit.

What a COURAGEOUS job you are doing to raise public awareness of the budget cuts on Human Services for those in need.

These cuts come at a time when THIS FAILED REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION’S economic policies are putting more and more people in need. We are told by our local leaders that the problem is only in Michigan; don’t you believe that for ONE MOMENT!!! The U.S. Census Bureau recently announced that 33 States had more people fall below the poverty line in 2004 and this is the fourth year in a row!

We seem to have unlimited amount our tax dollars for…WAR IN IRAQ, NO BID CONTRACTS FOR HALLIBURTON, and CORPORATE WELFARE for CORPORATIONS ALLMIGHTY but taking care of Americans in need is considered a WASTE OF TAX PAYER DOLLARS by this Administration.

The intended savings by hurting those in need will be spent in a short time because they have plans to make up to 70 billion in tax cuts for, once again, America’s wealthiest.. How IMMORAL of them.

Mr Camp has voted himself $30,000 in raises while minimum wage has not been raised even a NICKLE!!! He has voted for 15 JOB OUT SOURCING TRADE AGREEMENTS that have put more Americans in need and have proven to benefit only those of his wealthy class. This should show you where his priorities are.

We are THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH because we have always taken care of those in need. This is not the Nation I grew up in nor is it the Nation I want our children and grand children to grow up in.

SHAME ON MR. CAMP OR ANY ONE THAT TURNS THEIR BACK ON THOSE IN NEED!

RESPECTFULLY,

Michael R Huckleberry
CONGESSIONAL CANDIDATE 4th DISTRICT
